BDC - Picking a fight with IDSF?

Sometimes when we deal with issues, we have to be dispassionate and try not to get personal. Below is an email from a lady by the name of Snieguole Wood. In essence she is calling for a boycott of the Crystal Palace Cup competition on the 22nd of May 2011.From my last visit to the web site of the British Dance Council (BDC) she is not a member of the Board or a committee member of the Council.
We now know that this call of  Freedom To Dance by some of the dance body and endorsed by BDC is manifestly a myth in England. In my earlier Blog posting, I have shown that BDC practices double standard.
I also suspected that eventually BDC will call for a general boycott to all English dancers in the United Kingdom. As a matter of fact, I am hoping to see if they are going to issue an all out boycott. Their solicitor would have advised them that, to cause economic injury from a boycott, is an actionable Tort. The BDC can most certainly be sued for substantial damages for the harm that they cause as a result of this call for boycott.
This impinges on basic Freedom of Association and it goes against the grain of the unwritten English Constitution. In the event BDC has given an all out boycott, they might as well inform their insurance company of a possible legal suit coming their way.
Now is BDC resorting to using Snieguole Wood to do their bidding to call for a boycott of the Crystal Palace Cup 2011? I personally do not think so, however I feel it is time for them to come out and state their stand clearly and unequivocally.
In the event BDC endorses her call to all ENGLISH competitors, BDC must be sued.
Snieguole Wood appears as though her call to all English Competitors are done on her own volition. However it is obvious that BDC's dirty handprint are all over her.
You are not wrong to say that Snieguole Wood’s ranting is that of a woman who has gone barmy (as the English would put it). I would surely suggest that her husband Mr. John Wood, a fine English gentleman and an able coach, who has trained many IDSF athletes under him to either send her for a thorough medical check up or perhaps put a tight leash around her. I am not being unkind for I fear that many of the IDSF athletes training under John Wood may just desert him to find another coach.
Now are you convinced and persuaded that the British Dance Council are in a sad state of affair.
Below is an email that is circulated, and I have no reason to believe that it is not authentic!

Subject: Crystal Cup on the 22nd May
Dear English Competitors,

You are all probably aware of the IDSF competition being held on the 22nd May, Crystal Cup.

I can not stop you to take part in any competition, as you have freedom of choice, but I can ask you and would in fact like to urge you not to attend this particular competition.

This competition is NOT run under British Dance council rules, and therefore it is not recognised event by this country. Beside that you all may occur some disciplinary actions if you participate at this event, IT is also preaching all historical and ethical rules of the Dancing in this Country.

I ask you all NOT to dance at this event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kind regards

Snieguole Wood

I find it hard to believe that BDC cannot see the wood for the trees! It must make its stand clear instead of letting a certain Mrs Wood start the fire and risk getting burnt. Is she not liable for her action?

The email with an incoherent exhortation to English dancers is an insult to their intelligence and freedom of association. They certainly have the freedom of choice whether to participate or not.

And who is Mrs Wood representing?

it is likely that Mr John Wood does not need Google because his wife knows everything!

dear Anon 3.08 am I am sure BDC feels threathen when the EADA left their fold to join IDSF. So they decided to go on a rampage. BDC has already send out a mail to all their members competitors and adjudicators not to get invcolved in the Crystal Palace Cup or else face disciplinary action. This news just came in. Now to affect the rest of the English dancers who are not BDC members, BDC recruited Snigoule Woods to call " ALL ENGLISH COmpetitors" to boycott the Crystal Palace Cup 2011. I have seen her Face Book posting and the word she used against IDSF run competition is not only uncouth but rude. You can say her language is like the fisherwomen in Billingsgate Fish market of yester years. Really she is a silly sod.

Dear Skydancer, Sniguole Wood is NOT an English lady. She is from Lithunia, it is somewhere in Northern Europe next to Latvia and the Baltic Sea. Be rest assured that no correct English women whould write the manner that she did.

Dear Snieguole Wood, I don't quite get it when you say that the Crystal Palace Cup competition is breaking all historicle and ethicle rules? I umnderstand that they are running the competition under IDSF rules ,therefore I assume using IDSF adjudicators. As I understand IDSF is the world governing body for Dancesport and are recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). I don't quite get it when you use the word historical. What historicle rules are you referring to? Certainly not the BDC rules. As far as I see BDC is not and never was a sporting body, IDSF is. Why can't BDC exist side by side. YOu do your own thing and let IDSF do theirs too.

Dancers choosing to be with EADA & IDSF must go ahead and fully support Crystal Palace Cup 2011.

BDC is behaving hostile and it is pathetic to rely on Mrs Wood to wildly scream at English dancers 'not to dance at this event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

As Eileen Doonan Castle puts it, BDC is not a sports body. So why is it spoiling for a fight with IDSF, that is an International Federation for DanceSport with IOC? What is actually the objective of BDC and what is the agenda to pick the fight with IDSF now?

Come on, BDC, be sporting and do not be spoilsport...

danswer may I point out EADA (English Amateur Dancers Association) mermbers are banned by IDSF from competing in the Crystal Palace event.
EADA is not an IDSF member.

Dance Mate I think you are mistaken. The EADA that you know of before is now known as Dancesport England. You may confirm this on their web site, they are no longer membber of the BDC. They are now IDSF members representing England.
